House Season 5: Episode 2 – Not Cancer

While season five started off in an interesting enough fashion. Episode doesn’t keep the momentum going. It suffers from an uninteresting case, whose only interesting feature is a P.I. that House hires, first as a test run. House sends the P.I. to find info on his case as his test run. The Private investigator does a good enough job so that House decides to put him on Wilson. Wilson for his part continues to reject Houses attempts as a friend, making House realize he’s only using Wilson for inspiration for his case. House turns to his new found friend of sorts the private investigator, for his inspiration. Finding it, House goes about his usual tricks to solve the case. Overall the episode was okay, and could have been better. Hugh Laurie was as good as he’ll get, and is always great as House. I have to give this episode a 7 out of 10. It really was a let down after the season premier.

House Season 5: Episode 1- Dying Changes Everything

Well of the two shows I watch one being Flight of the Conchords the other being House. House is back! And with an interesting season premiere. So interesting in that House almost doesn’t do any medical solving, and all because of Wilson his best friend. I find it hard to describe this particular episode without giving spoilers. But the most interesting parts of the episode involve House and Wilson arguing back and forth, and then house’s refusal to work. Until Wilson agrees to stay on. Cuddy tries to help, but she only seems to drive them further away. In the end House, tries to apologize for his actions, hoping to make Wilson stay, but he decides to leave instead of enabling House as he so put it. House uninterested in his own case, but also uninterested in what Cuddy has to say, solves his patients file, with a quick diagnoses. There were a few other things that pop up in the episode of interest, but I won’t spoil those for you. It was a well paced and seems to go longer then it’s allotted hour, but it didn’t. All in all I really liked this episode, Robert Sean Leonard and Hugh Laurie do a fantastic job of making there characters clash. I’d give it an 8 out of 10.

Burn After Reading

A good but not so good movie. It has an interesting story that makes you like the characters, but kills all the slightly good characters. And makes the okay characters annoying, and the story does it’s best to make you annoyed with those characters. It certainly has it’s moments of funniness but for the most part the movie zips right along, ignoring comedy in favor of spy/drama. Though the movie doesn’t even fully stick it’s foot into the spy/drama water, it merely tests the water then waits for the audiences reaction. Brad Pitt in my honest opinion literally saves this movie from being cliche movie, unfortunately his time on the screen is literally way to short, he has fun with the role while I guess keeping it realistically grounded. George Clooney does an okay job, and Malkovich does a good job but it feels a bit forced at times with the amount of swearing and being angry. It is a good movie, for those interested in a sort of zany good story, crazy characters whom you may or may not end up liking. But otherwise i’d wait for it on DVD.  I give this movie a 6 out of 10. Good but not good.
