A novel by Christopher Moore released in 2007, is an interesting combination of trashy novel/love story/comedy. Though it isn’t as trashy as some novels. It is fairly funny and light hearted. Which is an interesting change of pace for a novel about Vampires. It’s a short quick read at just under 330 pages. Most of the comedic elements come from one Character Abby Normal, with the other characters not having to many funny lines or moments. It is a very good novel though at some points it seemed it a little slow, but worth the read if you have some time to burn. I give it a(n) 8 out 10.

Christopher Buckley has written quite a few novels. Most of which I have yet to read. But I soon hope to rectify that. Florence starts out interesting enough and keeps the pace moving through out the novel. Unfortunately the novel seems to follow the same plot line as his other novel that I’ve read. And while that isn’t necessarily bad. It does leave you wanting just little bit more then what was given to you. A good novel that doesn’t try to hard to define it’s self beyond what’s written. I’d give it a 7 out of 10, a good solid novel but not good enough to be quite as memorable as it could be.

An interesting novel, not told through the usual perspective. But rather twelve interwoven stories. Each connecting to one another in some way. It’s an up and down ride, that takes you through the transplant process of moving to another country and culture. How kids adapt so much quicker then the adults. Then the adults ostracize the kids saying they forget the home land. How much a person must adjust to something so completely new and different. How you can lose your status in society because no one in the new country will recognize your accomplishments and you must fight your way back. But you never reach the level that you were once at. A good interesting book, that could open quite a few eyes if they were to ever read it. I’d give it an 8 out of 10. A good interesting novel that didn’t completely capture me.

The Laments is a novel about a family, a family that is always on the move. It is a hard life they live always trying to fit in. Living crisis to crisis, just trying to live there life. I don’t know it’s really hard book to describe. I felt it was a very touching book, not as funny as a lot of people were claiming but amusing at points. The life of Will Lament and his family is a sad one but with everything they face they come together. As I said in my last post if you occasionally like a well written novel then it is well worth it considering you can get on amazon for 2 cents plus shipping. I would give it a 9 out of 10. It may start off slow but by the end of the novel you feel attached to the characters and only want the best for them.

Lets get the video games and rants out of the way first. First Halo 3, my first though upon playing the game was it’s Halo. Which is great if you love Halo, but if you don’t your going to end up considering it an average sci-fi first person shooter. Secondly Gamestop order service claims that they shipped my copy of GTA4, woot. But they don’t have a tracking number which they say they don’t have because they outsourced the shipment to another company. Not sure if I believe them but if GTA4 shows up at my door tomorrow I will be ecstatic. My other worry about it not shipping is that my credit card hasn’t been charged, or gamestop also hasn’t sent out it’s usual your game shipped email. If you couldn’t tell I really want to play GTA4. Anyway on to the “The Laments” a novel about a family. I was going to write a review of it, but on second thought I don’t think I’ve digested it nearly enough. I will say that it is a very touching novel, that has its moments of silliness. I would recommend to anyone who likes to read a well written book every once and awhile.
