Movies with zombies are almost always good. And Zombieland is no exception. It’s a fast paced, gore infested film about zombies. And that is what makes it good film. It doesn’t try to be anything other then what it is. a comedy horror film that needs zombie gore, an occasional death, some quirky characters. Overall if you just want to see a good movie, and like comedy with some gore. Then check it out, overall I really liked the movie and give it a 9 out 10.

Clive Owen stars in an interesting but rather dull movie. Staring across from Namoi Watts who delivers a good performance but rather flat delivery. The movie revolves around the idea of a Bank controlling weapons but not for the money that they would get for the weapons. While it is a good and interesting movie that has a decent plot line. The movie gets a little preachy but is enjoyable overall. The saving factor would have to be Clive Owen but not until the end. A good solid movie but slightly dull, a good movie for a rainy night when you don’t have anything better to do. I’d give it a 6 out of 10.

If you go in to this movie expecting a pure wrestling movie, you may be disappointed by the results. Mickey Rourke does a solid job of bringing his character to life, and the surrounding characters do a solid job of bringing the world surrounding the movie to life. But for all of it’s solidity something about the Wrestler makes me say it’s only a decent film. I don’t know if it was the pace of the film, which moved along quite nicely or just the length. Maybe it’s the way it ended, but it just felt like some aspects could have been fleshed out. I really liked the movie sound track especially the wrestler by Bruce Springsteen. It’s a good solid movie that could go a long way in reviving Mickey Rourke career, and as long as he does interesting roles he should continue to excel. The Wrestler is a good solid film, that lacks something to make it a great memorable film. I don’t know maybe someone can point it out to me. I have to give the film a 7 out 10. It’s a good and solid film, one that is worth going to see in theaters.

A good but not so good movie. It has an interesting story that makes you like the characters, but kills all the slightly good characters. And makes the okay characters annoying, and the story does it’s best to make you annoyed with those characters. It certainly has it’s moments of funniness but for the most part the movie zips right along, ignoring comedy in favor of spy/drama. Though the movie doesn’t even fully stick it’s foot into the spy/drama water, it merely tests the water then waits for the audiences reaction. Brad Pitt in my honest opinion literally saves this movie from being cliche movie, unfortunately his time on the screen is literally way to short, he has fun with the role while I guess keeping it realistically grounded. George Clooney does an okay job, and Malkovich does a good job but it feels a bit forced at times with the amount of swearing and being angry. It is a good movie, for those interested in a sort of zany good story, crazy characters whom you may or may not end up liking. But otherwise i’d wait for it on DVD. I give this movie a 6 out of 10. Good but not good.

Interesting is the only word I can use to describe the two movies I recently saw. Across the universe is interesting in it’s use of Beatles songs to tell a story. And Hamlet 2 is interesting in that well it’s interesting? I guess? I’m not quite sure why I like Hamlet 2 other then the usual F-Off censorship. It’s quite original, different and silly.
Across the Universe, is a powerful little movie, that suffers from power outages for most of the movie. With only two songs maybe three that really click, “Let it Be, Revolution, and All You Need is Love” It tells an interesting intertwined story of Jude and Lucy. It has both it’s ups (the songs I mentioned) and the downs. Most of those being bad visuals during some of the songs, and the length at 2 hours and 13 minutes. Though I will say I really liked Bono’s Cameo. It was in my opinion anyway very well done. I’d give the movie 7 out of 10 for at least trying to do something different, even if it didn’t do it very well. Plus there is just something I like about it, but the words escape me, to describe it.
Hamlet 2 is both interesting and insane? I guess would be the best word for it. It is a funny piece that while fighting censorship and oppressive behavior. Falls short of it’s goal of supporting the arts. It has it’s funny moments, with Elizabeth shue and the rest of the cast. But Catherine Keener and David Arquette characters are more of a hindrance to the movie then a help. Though I guess that was there story line, but most of the scenes with them just felt odd and out of place. But overall it’s a good movie, that gave me a couple of laughs, which is what I wanted from it. I’d give it 7 out of 10. Interesting movie, not really for everyone though.

If you ever wanted an epic summer movie. This is the movie to go see. It is a well written, well shot piece that manages to bring all of the characters to life in a realistic way. Despite the fact that Bale is the lead of the movie, the show is easily stolen away by Ledger performance as the Joker. It is movie that will keep you at the edge of your seat wanting more despite coming in at 2 hours and 30 minutes. Honestly all I can say is that if you like good interesting movies, that often diverge from the path most taken. Your loss for not seeing the movie, and the role that will define Heath Ledger, and might just get him an oscar. I have to give this movie a 9 out of 10, easily one of the best films you will see this year, if you see it.

“You Kill Me” is a movie from 2007 starring Ben Kingsley, Tea Leoni and Luke Wilson. It is essential a hybrid type comedy. By combining an interesting character study and situational comedy that at times borders on black comedy but never crosses the line into black comedy. It makes for an interesting movie that lacks in action but has a good solid dialog from beginning to end. Ben Kingsley does an interesting job in moving the character Frank through the movie while keeping him grounded and on the brink of sobering up. Both Tea Leoni and Luke Wilson did a very good job in backing up Ben and overall the movie was interesting but was mostly a slow affair that was more focused on character development then that of comedy which it was supposed to be. Overall I’d have to give it a 7 out 10. It’s good just not that good.

A dark comedy about a family whose father has passed away, and his family comes to morn his passing. A very british comedy that wacky hijinks include a future fiance talking drugs by accident, a threat to blackmail the family to unleash sordid details of a love affair with pictures to prove it. The accidental drugging of the blackmailer. Plus sordid other details that only really seem to come out during a funeral of this magnitude. With strong Perfomance’s by the entire cast it’s hard to go wrong watching a silly movie of this nature. I would give it an 8 out of 10, there are some parts that don’t work out quite as well as they could. But all in all a very good movie.

If dark comedy’s about people with principles your kinda thing then you may want to head out and catch In Bruges while you still can or maybe just wait for the DVD which hopeful will have a commentary track. But back to the movie at hand. In Bruge is a movie about a hit gone awry. Starring Colin Farrel as Ray whom manages screws up his very first hit job. Ray is pulled away from the mess by Ken(Brendan Gleason), whom contact’s there Boss Harry (Ralph Fiennes) who orders them to go to Bruge until the heat is off. Bruge which is in Belgium is not to Ray’s liking as he being a hyper can’t pay attention to anything that is action oriented kinda guy. The movie has it’s laughs but doesn’t really pick up until we find out that the hit which went wrong and results in an untimely death of an innocent person. Is weighing heavily on ray’s mind. The movie picks up and manages to run to the finish line after that. Though as fair warning the last 10 maybe 15 minutes of the movie are some of darkest in terms of black comedy’s. I would give this movie an 8 out of 10, as Colin Farrel proves that he is indeed a good actor and needs to stay away from big budget movies. The only down side to the movie is how dark it can get towards the end, it is to say the least quite a shock to the system.
